I have always been drawn to create, paint and weave stories around it all.
A childhood obsessing over illuminated projects led to study in Fine Art in Norwich and Photo Arts in London, after which I found work in photo research and archiving while working as a freelance illustrator. I grew up in London, a Swedish father the origin of my Scandinavian name, and travels to Scotland in childhood paved the way for my move there in the mid nineties. For the last fifteen years I have been based in Edinburgh continuing the learning process and exhibiting locally and in England.
I still have an inbuilt need to diarise, invent and narrate the imaginings and observations that clamour for attention. My paintings are essentially autobiographical, but hint at a utopian world where a balance exists between man and nature; the impetus behind them maybe a desire to bring a semblance of order to our often chaotic and unpredictable existence.
When time and money allows I love travelling; Stuart and I have managed a trip to the Far East most years as well as trips in Europe and the UK. This translates to my work in new colours, subjects, heroes and characters, furthering the narrative of my images.
