My creative life has been a winding
path; I always want to be making,
painting or drawing something, but the
shape and form this has taken has
changed over the decades.
For the last ten years, I have been painting
in my open studio in the business I run with my partner Stuart - Bon Papillon in Edinburgh's New Town. Here my work veered from abstract oils to figurative watercolours, and ended with a run of portrait commissions as I became obsessed with the portrayal of the face and the story behind it.
Then 2020 happened, with as many personal challenges for me as there were universal ones with the Covid-19 pandemic, and life changed.
To meet this challenge I returned to my college love of printmaking, and am currently producing lino print editions, gradually developing my skills, ideas and equipment in my home studio in Edinburgh. I am now fully freelance as our business premises has run out of lease and we are freeing ourselves up and seeing which direction the coming years take us! (This may well have something to do with bikes as well as printmaking and framing...)
On sale on this website are some of my oil paintings left over from the gallery, along with an every-increasing stock of my printmaking. My Etsy site has the main runs of limited edition prints starting at only £22 and on this site I am offering my one-off prints and experimental proofs. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/IngPrintmaker
